Our client are one of Northern Germany’s leading EPC companies delivering critical energy‑infrastructure projects across the region and wider Europe.
An ideal position for someone who thrives on high‑voltage greenfield project planning, system design and end‑to‑end technical ownership.
As they expand their engineering team, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design and execution of major grid‑connected assets, from early development through construction and commissioning.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will be at the centre of HV engineering within full EPC project lifecycles, taking responsibility for technically robust, buildable solutions.
You will be involved in:
* Developing and reviewing HV substation concepts, system configurations, protection philosophies, equipment sizing and layout arrangements
* Translating grid‑connection requirements into practical design deliverables and coordinating with transmission/DSO stakeholders
* Driving engineering work across feasibility, basic design and detailed design stages
* Reviewing supplier proposals and electrical equipment packages (GIS/AIS, transformers, switchgear, protection & control systems)
* Working closely with procurement, civil, structural and construction teams to ensure alignment on interfaces and installation requirements
* Supporting FEED assessments, constructability reviews, risk evaluations and electrical system studies
Your Profile
In addition to a degree in Electrical, Electronics, Power Engineering (or a similar technical discipline), suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:
* You hold an engineering qualification in electrical or energy systems, with strong technical grounding in power networks and high‑voltage plant
* You have a proven track record delivering substation‑related electrical design, ideally gained on new‑build or major upgrade projects
* Hands‑on experience with primary plant arrangements, including switchgear configurations, transformer interfaces, busbar schemes and earthing concepts
* Confident working with secondary systems, such as control, protection coordination, interlocking logic, and panel layouts
* Familiarity with HV equipment specifications, vendor selection, and reviewing manufacturer drawings for compliance and buildability
* Both German & English fluency is essential for this role
