* You will be responsible for leading a team of firmware and electronics developers, promoting their professional growth through coaching, training, and regular feedback.
* Your role involves ensuring reliable project planning, implementation, and monitoring, collaborating across departments and locations, integrating new technologies and trends in embedded systems, and implementing best practices in product/software development.
* You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including external development partners, to ensure successful integration and delivery of projects.
* You will develop modular platform solutions, integrate new technologies and trends in embedded systems, contributing to quality improvement and reduction of development costs.
* You will implement open-source principles, contribute to external committees and communities, and represent the organization's interests in these forums.
* You will ensure compliance with legal and normative requirements as well as relevant cybersecurity specifications in all development processes.
* You will lead by example, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
* Several years of professional experience in the successful and cross-functional development of embedded systems, preferably in medical device development.
* Experience in technical and disciplinary leadership, developing high-performing teams in a regulated environment, and in the field of cybersecurity.
* Experience in collaborating with and managing external development partners nationally and globally.
* In-depth knowledge of relevant programming languages such as C, C++, Python, as well as application knowledge in the use of xwminpx Linux-based real-time operating systems, preferably Zephyr, as well as microcontrollers and bus systems (CAN, CAN-FD, TSN).
* Familiarity with modern product and software development methods and associated CI/CD tools, such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Jira.
* Knowledge of platform development/product line engineering; practical experience is desirable.
* Application-related project management skills and the ability to use both classic and agile approaches as appropriate to the situation.
* A solution-oriented and analytical mindset.
* Good communication skills and experience in stakeholder management.
* Enjoy working with international and diverse teams.
* Very good English skills, written and spoken, and good German skills.
