The position is offered from March 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028. The position is fulltime with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 100 %).
Tasks:
* scientific services in research
* independent planning, implementation and evaluation of animal experiments (mouse model) on the immunogenicity and efficacy of vaccines
* development and standardization of methods for analyzing humoral and cellular immune responses
* working with highly pathogenic viruses under BSL4 conditions (virological and animal experimental work)
* project development, documentation and communication with project partners
The position will be filled by a temporary contract that is limited to the period which is necessary to gain further scientific expertise (such as the preparation for a subsequent qualification period). Within the entrusted tasks the opportunity for independent scientific work to obtain further personal qualification is given. The limitation of the contract complies to Section 2 (1) of the WissZeitVG.
Profile:
* completed university degree in human biology, biology, veterinary medicine or medicine with a doctorate or proof that you are nearing completion of your doctoral studies
* several years of experience in the analysis of humoral and cellular immune responses
* several years of experience in conducting animal experiments with mice
* independence, high motivation and excellent teamwork skills
* experience in handling highly pathogenic viruses (safety level BSL-3 or BSL-4) as well as in cell biology and virology methods is advantageous
A willingness to pursue your own scientific qualifications is expected.
