WHO ARE WE?
The Excellence Cluster Cardiopulmonary Institute (CPI; unites over 200 scientists from Goethe University Frankfurt, Justus Liebig University Giessen, and the Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim, Germany. Our mission is to elucidate novel molecular and cellular processes to advance Precision Biology and Precision Medicine. As an interdisciplinary consortium, our team of basic scientists, translational researchers, and clinicians focuses on understanding the complex micro- and macro-environmental cues as well as cell intrinsic alterations underlying cardiopulmonary diseases. We also elucidate organ crosstalk, particularly between the heart and the lung, as well as the heart-lung interface and the hematopoietic and nervous system. Our goal is to develop targeted therapies and translate discoveries into clinical practice through integrated data analysis, clinical studies, and digital methods, aiming to tailor treatments to individual patients.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We welcome exceptional, creative and ambitious postdoctoral candidates who:
* Obtained a PhD or MD after Jan 1, 2021 (one year leeway per child)
* Have at least one publication as first or last author in a Q1 journal
* Have a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, physiology or clinical research
* Are passionate about exploring topics in pulmonary and/or cardiovascular biology
* Are prepared to pitch their innovative project idea in a CPI Grant Symposium

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to present their proposal during a dedicated CPI Postdoc Grant Symposium. Matchmaking host groups will follow immediately after identification of successful candidates.
