To support and assist the Head of Legal and the legal team in relation to Insurance Law matters primarily for the German market, with some assistance on cross-border law topics for Austria and other European countries.
Responsibilities :
1. Advise the Company on Legal and Regulatory topics relating to:
2. Legal and regulatory requirements that the Companies must comply with as insurance product manufacturers of Life and non-Life Insurance business operated in Germany on a Freedom of Services basis.
3. Legal and regulatory requirements concerning insurance customer documentation and marketing materials, primarily for the German market.
4. Advise the Company as Insurer on relevant Distribution Insurance topics through German intermediaries (including trade accessory intermediaries).
5. Collaborate with the business on Insurance Law and regulatory matters to innovate and simplify insurance products, solutions, and communications mainly in the German market.
6. Stay updated with legislative changes impacting the Companies, mainly in the German market.
7. Conduct legal research as required.
8. Assist with and manage legal disputes and contentious matters affecting CNPSI through litigation or mediation, mainly in the German market.
9. Maintain, manage, liaise with, and oversee relationships with external legal counsel.
10. Work on cross-border insurance topics in other European jurisdictions where CNPSI operates, including Austria.
11. Draft contracts such as reinsurance agreements and distribution agreements.
12. Review, update, and improve processes, policies, and procedures to mitigate legal risks and enhance the legal function's efficiency.
13. Build collaborative relationships within CNPSI and with external stakeholders; represent CNPSI at external forums.
14. Promote CNPSI values and behaviors within the department and the broader business.
15. Ensure excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
16. Fluent in both English and German.
17. Demonstrate passion for customer-centric solutions and innovation.
18. Be a quick learner with keen attention to detail.
19. Be organized, capable of managing multiple priorities, including routine and urgent issues.
20. Display a strong sense of risk awareness, with cross-functional influencing and teamwork skills.
21. Willingness to travel within the EEA; preference for candidates based in Dublin, but consideration given to others in the EEA.

24. Maintain discretion and integrity.
25. Good knowledge of Data Protection issues is desirable.
26. Hold a degree or equivalent qualification.
27. Minimum of 5-6 years’ experience in a busy Legal Team.
28. Knowledge of PPI and/or simple protection products is desirable.
