Job Overview
Wargaming Prague is looking for a Senior 3D Environment Artist to work on new and exciting features for our groundbreaking MMO title World of Tanks, which has over 100 million players worldwide.
As the Senior Environment Artist, you’ll be covering the full development cycle of complex photo-realistic 3D models for World of Tanks maps and hangars, mentor Environment artists in the team and supervise their work. You’ll also improve workflows and pipelines in the team, introducing new tools and approaches. You’ll work on organizing an internal library of photo-realistic tiled materials using UpToDate techniques and participate in asset pool planning for new maps and hangars, considering game specific and style consistency.
To be successful, you need to be an experienced, proactive, open minded Environment Artist who is passionate about game development, using modern technologies and working in a collaborative multicultural environment.

What will you do?
1. Create complex environment assets like buildings and modular architectural sets
2. Create complex photorealistic nature assets like mountains, rocks and trees
3. Create props that fit within a given biome or architectural setting
4. Mentor team members, introducing advanced pipelines and tools
5. Supervise work of your teammates, driving and pushing quality
6. Work on internal material library
7. Creating photorealistic materials and textures
8. Working closely with Game Designers, Level Artists, Tech Artists and Art Director to ensure that environments and assets match budgets, quality bar and art vision
9. Participating in the development of new tools and technologies for Wargaming's proprietary game engine
What are we looking for?
10. 5+ years of Environment Art experience gained in video game industry
11. Proven ability to create high quality photorealistic models and textures of AAA quality
12. Solid knowledge of Maya (or Blender), Zbrush, Photoshop and Substance products
13. Strong understanding of classic content production pipeline (LP, HP, NM Bake, Texturing, LODing)
14. A great eye for scale, proportion and composition
15. Excellent verbal and written skills, and be able to both take critique and give feedback internally and externally in a professional manner
16. Advanced English (С1) or higher
17. Strong internal motivation
18. Passion for innovation and keeping up with the latest industry trends
19. A portfolio with examples of landscape and architectural structures
What additional skills will help you stand out?
20. Strong understanding of architecture, color, shapes and composition
21. Experience in material creation and understanding of PBR workflow
22. Experience working with game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary engines)
23. Understanding Houdini workflow
Work mode
24. Onsite or hybrid (3 days per week in the Prague office)
25. For this position, relocation to Prague will be required. Our team will provide relocation support. Please note that candidates must be legally authorized to work in the Czech Republic at the time of application
