About You
You have led or played a key role in the definition and development of HW, SW or system products for the automotive BMS or powertrain. You are both a technical and people leader in your current role but are hungry for a new challenge. You are naturally curious and seek out to valuable problems to solve even when this takes you outside your area of domain expertise. You take team leadership seriously and work hard at supporting your teams growth and development. You will have worked on several projects from concept through to production release and may have held a Technical Lead role on one or more projects. As a systems Engineer you understand the value of systematic development process and are adept at system engineering processes and tools. You know that innovation is a team sport and have proven yourself to be a strong team player at an organizational level.
The Role
As the leader of a team of System Architects you will take a leadership role in the development of Battery management and powertrain systems comprising of multiple sensor ICs, processors software and algorithms. You will be responsible for steering the team of system Architects through the development of all new products, working closely with system test, software development and applications teams. These projects are at the cutting edge of electrification technology and highly visible within the company. You will be able to jump in as contributor to work products, but the primary role is to manage, lead and direct the team.
1. Lead, manage and inspire a team of system architects working in battery management and electrification
2. Create a vision for the team that is aligned to ADI and Electrification’s team long term goals and set out and communicate a strategic plan towards that vision.
3. Establish strong relationships with other functional leads like Software, Quality and Program Management to ensure alignment on scope, process, and responsibilities to meet customer expectations.
4. Within the Systems team collaborate and align with system test and modelling on process, requirements traceability, requirements quality, project planning and test strategies.
5. Manage team budgets, career development and performance reviews.
6. Recruit and develop the best talent.
7. Keep up to date with the latest industry trends and customer architectures and provide thought leadership on these topics both internally and externally.
8. Support advanced technology initiatives related to BMS and electrification.
Your Qualifications:
Minimum BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering; MSEE or MSCE and 10+ years of experience preferred
Experience and Skills
9. 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, ideally in automotive. At least 5+ in a managerial role
10. Proven experience in building and scaling engineering teams with strong leadership skills
11. Track record in bringing complex software/system products to market
12. Experience in ASPICE process flow and work products
13. Very strong knowledge and experience in system engineering and product life cycle management
14. Familiarity with sysML and tools like Enterprise Architect
15. Experience with articulating and presenting concepts to Customers and uncovering their needs
16. Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to understand and clearly articulate technical issues
17. Experience in functionally safe systems based on IEC 61508 or ISO 26262 at the system or IC level
18. Strong verbal and written English communication skills to work effectively with teams spread geographically and support automotive customers
19. An advantage to have experience in architecting and defining EV powertrain products and systems for automotive, like inverter, on-board charger, or high voltage Lithium-ion Battery management systems
20. Experience in development of cybersecurity enabled software and hardware products an advantage
21. Experience in development of algorithmic and AI/ML software products an advantage
