Tax Director
A highly regarded, global financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President, Tax to lead German tax matters from its Frankfurt office. This is a senior, strategic role within a complex, highly regulated environment, offering significant visibility and influence across the business.
The position combines technical tax leadership with senior stakeholder engagement, supporting regulated investment structures and broader financial services activities in Germany.
Key Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for German tax strategy, compliance, and advisory
Provide expert tax support in relation to KVG structures and regulated investment vehicles
Oversee all German tax filings, audits, and interactions with tax authorities
Act as a senior advisor to Legal, Compliance, Finance, and executive stakeholders
Monitor changes in German and EU tax legislation and drive implementation across the business
Manage and coordinate external tax advisors
Contribute to wider EMEA and global tax initiatives as part of a senior tax leadership group
Essential Candidate Criteria
Demonstrable, hands‑on KVG knowledge and experience with German investment fund taxation – non‑negotiable
Significant experience within financial services, asset management, or investment management
Ability to operate confidently at senior leadership level in a regulated environment
Deep technical understanding of German tax law
Fluency in German and English
Experience in a global or matrixed organisation
Exposure to international or cross‑border tax matters
