The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations to ensure a high-functioning, profitable, and guest-centric experience. Description
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations to ensure a high-functioning, profitable, and guest-centric experience. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and financial acumen to manage staff, drive revenue, and uphold quality standards across all departments. The General Manager must cultivate a positive work environment, encourage collaboration, and develop strategies to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position requires a results-driven leader who can balance operational efficiency, team management, financial stability, and guest satisfaction to ensure long-term success.
Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth functioning of all departments, including golf bays, kitchen, bar, event spaces, and maintenance.
* Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, control costs, and identify opportunities to enhance revenue streams while maintaining profitability.
* Recruit, train, and lead a diverse team of staff, including front-of-house, kitchen, and maintenance personnel, while fostering a positive work environment and encouraging teamwork.
* Drive exceptional customer service standards, maintaining a guest-focused atmosphere, resolving issues promptly, and seeking ways to improve the overall guest experience.
* Ensure adherence to quality standards in food, beverage, and entertainment offerings, conducting regular checks to guarantee consistent excellence across all aspects of the venue.
* Uphold rigorous health and safety standards, overseeing employee training in safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
* Collaborate with the events team to plan and execute private parties, corporate events, and special promotions, ensuring seamless event operations and customer satisfaction.
* Work closely with marketing to implement effective promotional strategies, driving foot traffic, increasing brand visibility, and maintaining a strong online presence.
* Manage inventory levels for food, beverages, and equipment, optimizing supply chains to minimize waste while meeting demand fluctuations.
* Regularly analyze venue performance metrics, customer feedback, and financial reports, using data-driven insights to make informed decisions aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
* Develop and foster relationships within the local community, collaborating with neighboring businesses, community organizations, and schools to enhance the venue's presence and engagement.
* Oversee maintenance of the facility, including golf bays, equipment, landscaping, and overall venue aesthetics, ensuring a clean, safe, and visually appealing environment.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in high volume ($5M+ annual revenue) entertainment venue, hotel, or restaurant.
* Multi-unit management experience preferred but not required.
* At least 2-years of higher education (beyond high school).
* Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Dynamic and energetic personality.
* High level of self-awareness and openness to change with a strong sense of integrity.
* Ability to obtain the necessary licenses and certifications, if applicable.
* Proven track record of managing complex budgets and increasing revenue successfully
* Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
* Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time including maneuvering up and down stairs
* Must be able to pass a background check.
