Hauptaufgaben Performs studies to develop economic impacts of transportation policy, executive decision making and managerial alternatives. Seeks out and assembles information and facts pertinent to the problem from multitudes of diverse and often little used or even uncooperative data sources. Examines user's problem definitions and contacts requestors for clarification and additional facts. Acquires additional relevant information from other agencies. Makes comparisons of see container break bulk shipments of various commodities between CONUS and Western Europe intra-theater moves by all modes of transport within Western Europe and the Middle East. Assesses alternative estimating approaches. Finalizes studies expounding technological and economic shortfalls and recommendations as well as displaying selected data in comprehensible and meaningful form in tables of mathematical computation graphs and charts. Evaluates and initiates regulations to reduce cost or energy use or to improve transportation distribution policy, systems and procedures. Reviews commercial and military regulations, tariffs and trade publications; military conventions, contracts and tenders; economic and operational reports and analyses published by various DoD agencies, noting evolution of traffic and systems, questionable tariff applications or other developments pertinent to economic analyses.
