Private Equity Director – Head of Investments (C&I Renewables) Location: Hybrid – [Specify Base City / Remote with regular travel] + travel to Berlin office as required
The firm is a fast-growing private equity platform focused on investing in Commercial & Industrial (C&I) renewable energy projects, accelerating the transition to clean energy while delivering attractive returns. We are seeking a Director – Head of Investments to lead origination, execution, and portfolio management for our C&I renewables strategy.
This is a senior leadership role offering significant autonomy to drive value creation and shape the investment platform.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the investment strategy for C&I renewable energy platforms (solar PV, battery storage, distributed generation).
Originate, evaluate, structure, and execute equity and hybrid investments across development, construction, and operational phases.
Lead transaction execution: oversee due diligence, financial modelling, valuation, negotiations, and documentation.
Manage and grow relationships with developers, EPCs, co-investors, lenders, and key partners.
Oversee portfolio companies, supporting management teams to achieve operational excellence and growth.
Present investment opportunities and portfolio performance to the Investment Committee and Board.
Build, lead, and mentor a team of investment professionals, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Candidate Profile
~10+ years’ experience in private equity, infrastructure, or corporate development, with a strong focus on renewables (C&I preferred).
~ Track record of originating and executing complex transactions in energy or infrastructure sectors.
~ Strong understanding of renewable energy development, financing, and regulatory frameworks.
~ Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
~ Advanced financial modelling and deal structuring expertise.
~ Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
~ MBA, CFA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
~ Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage.
