The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Junior Product Development Electrical Engineer (R&D) for Electrical Markets Division in Neuss, Germany, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
* Developing medium and high voltage cable accessories, including connectors, terminations, and joints for global markets
* Conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs
* Collaborating with global cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, portfolio management, quality department, and project management
* Contribution to product development projects from building business case till commercialization
* Ensuring proper product lifecycle documentation including test reporting and failure analysis
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:
* Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Power Systems, or related field
* Knowledge of high and/or medium voltage electrical systems, insulation materials, and manufacturing processes
* Fluent in German and English

* First working experience in energy industry or similar.
* Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
* Ability to work independently and as part of an international team.
* Interest in practical working, prototyping, simulating, testing, and validation of electronic designs.
* Eagerness to learn and willingness to start on new topics.
* Experience with industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ANSI).
Job specifics:
* Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international
* The working model is on-site in Neuss, Germany, with a minimum of four in-office days weekly.
