Key Responsibilities
This role reports directly to both the CEO and CFO, holding full accountability for Legal and Compliance functions.
Strategic & Advisory
* Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and CFO in corporate governance matters.
* Provide high-quality advice to the executive committee within your area of responsibility and structure remedies for relevant topics.
* Help remove obstacles and foster business objectives in a proactive manner.
* Ensure that the company maintains the highest standards of legal and ethical behaviour, balancing dual imperatives of company performance and corporate integrity.
Compliance Oversight
* Oversee the compliance function and keep the team up-to-date with new regulations.
* Ensure effective implementation of legal and compliance-related official regulations.
* Establish an effective working framework for the team in its activities and interactions with the rest of the company.
International Legal & Regulatory
* Advise on global surveillance and guidance requirements impacting core business activities.
* Conduct research on international compliance matters and deal with international authorities accordingly.
Contractual & Operational Support
* Support various departments from a legal and compliance perspective.
* Prepare and negotiate contractual setups such as cooperation agreements, reinsurance agreements, service agreements, and client claims reviews.
* Review insurance contracts, general terms and conditions, and other related documents during the product development process.
Requirements
* University degree in law (equivalent to Master 2, LLM).
* 7-10 years' experience as a lawyer or compliance officer, with proven leadership experience in an international environment.
* Deep knowledge of the insurance sector is essential.
* Excellent understanding of Luxembourg's legal and regulatory environment.
* Sound knowledge of international legal systems and contract management.
* Experience working in a matrix structure as part of an international group.
* Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
* Strong teamwork skills and ability to present results comprehensively.
* Indisputable level of integrity and trustworthiness.
* Highly motivated, dynamic, and resilient, with a preference for multicultural environments.
* Flawless spoken and written English required.
* German and French are considered strong assets.
