Intern in AI Agent Development/Natural Language Processing (NLP) (all genders)
We offer a 6-month internship (either compulsory or voluntary). YOUR TASKS AND EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
1. Work with experienced data scientists/applied researchers within a cross-divisional team on developing advanced AI-powered reasoning agent designed to unify and leverage Bayer's wealth of scattered knowledge for decision making
2. Research, implement and integrate state-of-the-art AI agent architectures and reasoning frameworks
3. Develop methods for connecting AI systems to internal knowledge bases, tools, and structured/unstructured data sources (internal and external)
4. Support the creation of specialized AI workflows for use cases like target prioritization, safety assessments and dossier generation
5. Implement natural language interfaces that enable intuitive human-AI collaboration
6. Write clean, well-documented Python code, contribute to open-source code and participate in system architecture design
7. Communicate your results clearly and rigorously across multidisciplinary teams, including scientific publications
WHO YOU ARE
8. During the whole period of internship enrolled Master student (all genders) in computer science, data science, physics, math, engineering or life sciences
9. Expertise and extensive hands-on experience in Python programming
10. Good understanding of machine-learning, large language models, prompting and NLP-methods
11. Ideally experiences with tools and frameworks for orchestration of RAG and agentic workflows like LangChain, Transformers, llamaindex, MCP
12. Interest in Life Science topics and basic domain understanding, ideally knowledgeable in bioinformatics or cheminformatics
13. Ability to solve complex problems via creative solutions, open minded and ready to embrace new ideas
14. Organized, focused and with a high degree of commitment, independence and time management
15. Passionate about applying AI to make an impact on fighting hunger and diseaes
16. Fluent in English, both written and spoken
