Job Title: Director Overseas Business Development (m/f/d) – Exhibition & Events

We are a dynamic and internationally oriented company operating at the heart of the global exhibition industry. To strengthen our team and drive our strategic growth in key international markets, we are looking for a dedicated leader to build and expand our overseas platform.
Your Mission
As our Director of Overseas Business Development, you will take full ownership of our international expansion strategy. You will lead the planning, execution, and P&L management of large-scale overseas exhibition projects, ensuring they meet strategic objectives and deliver sustainable business growth.
Your Responsibilities
* Strategic Market Expansion: Independently identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities in overseas markets. You will be responsible for acquiring and managing exhibition projects with a volume in the high six-figure to seven-figure Euro range.
* End-to-End Project Leadership: Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of international projects. This includes overseeing business negotiations, operational planning, on-site execution, budget control, and cross-functional team collaboration.
* Senior Stakeholder & Partner Management: Build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with key clients, industry associations, and government bodies. You will integrate resources to create value and enhance our brand reputation as a leading international exhibition organizer.
* Performance & Growth: Take a results-oriented approach to achieving ambitious business targets, from revenue and profitability goals to market share expansion.
Your Profile
* Language & Communication: Native-level proficiency in English (C1/C2 level); German language skills are a strong plus. You possess excellent cross-cultural communication skills and are comfortable navigating diverse business environments.
* Proven Track Record: You have successfully managed and delivered large-scale, complex projects (e.g., exhibitions, major events, trade fairs) from conception to completion, ideally with a focus on international markets.
* Business Acumen: You are a commercially savvy negotiator with strong experience in business development, partner management, and resource integration. You are driven by measurable results.
* Leadership Skills: You have demonstrated experience in leading teams, managing stakeholders, and driving projects forward in a matrix organization.
* Mobility: You are willing and able to travel internationally for business purposes or consider an international assignment (location to be discussed based on project needs).
