We are seeking a driven and experienced Validation Manager to lead our Validation Subdivision within the System Engineering division. This role is critical in ensuring that our electrified powertrain systems; designed for off-highway applications; are robustly validated across mechanical, electrical, and software domains. You will own the right side of the V-model, ensuring our products meet their performance, safety, and quality targets within budget and on schedule. This leadership role involves managing a multidisciplinary team, overseeing the complete system validation lifecycle; from simulation and prototype testing to hardware and software validation. Your key responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Own the system validation strategy for electrified powertrains, aligning with the overall product development roadmap and quality gates. Team Management: Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, including: DVP Engineers – Define and manage Design Verification Plans across Machine, Powertrain, and Battery systems. HW Test Engineers – Plan and control test execution budgets, manage external test houses, and ensure test readiness. Prototype Integrators – Oversee physical prototype builds and test execution. 3D Simulation/CAE Engineers – Guide virtual validation through tools like Ansys and CATIA. HiL/SiL Engineers – Lead software validation using Hardware-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop environments. Digital Twin Development & Automation: Drive the creation and deployment of a Digital Twin architecture to enable faster, more automated validation loops. Leverage Reduced Order Models (ROMs), integrate with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) frameworks, and ensure early-stage issue identification and virtual verification. Strategic Collaboration: Build partnerships with testing and certification bodies to ensure efficient, compliant, and predictable validation execution. Collaborate cross-functionally with Architecture and Design subdivisions and across global teams (DE, JP, NL) to align interfaces, targets, and system boundaries. Collaborate with other Yanmar Business Units, for example Yanmar Marine, for the scope of external testing locations during DV / PV, Synergies, and best practices Work with academic and industrial partners (e.g., simulation and validation tool providers) to expand technical capabilities and improve validation efficiency. Project Delivery: Ensure validation activities are executed in line with project milestones, delivering on time, within budget, and to the required quality. Process Development & Optimization: Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement of validation methods, including virtual-physical validation loops and end-to-end traceability. Risk & Issue Management: Identify technical and resource risks early, implement mitigation plans, and ensure escalations are handled constructively and promptly. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or related field). Minimum 10 years of experience in validation, system testing, or system engineering. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing teams, budgets, and project responsibilities. Strong experience with electrified systems and/or powertrain technologies. Solid knowledge of V-model, validation planning (DVP&R), and virtual validation methodologies incl. digital twin. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Proven ability to lead large teams and manage cross-functional operations effectively. Strong financial acumen and experience with strategic financial planning. Experience with tools such as Ansys, CATIA, and HiL/SiL environments. Excellent communication skills and intercultural sensitivity, experience in international organizations preferred. Additional languages, such as German or Japanese is an advantage.
