This role is perfect if you’re at the start of your senior design journey and want to take ownership of impactful product design projects in a high-growth environment. You’ll bring structure and craft to our product’s user experience – leading design across our web and mobile applications, evolving our design system, and crafting intuitive, high-quality interfaces that scale across internal tools and data dashboards. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to shape our product roadmap and deliver new features, all while maintaining and refining our design guidelines to achieve consistent, compelling, and world-class user experiences. Pliant has design in its DNA – our design team reports directly to one of the founders. Although our team is small, we thrive on finding the best solutions to design problems, and we hire people who have a keen interest in shaping our expansion and being part of the journey for years to come. If you thrive in fast-moving environments, are a pro-active designer, love to roll up your sleeves in Figma, and want to see your design work make a direct impact, this role is for you. Although we have Berlin listed as the main location, we value flexibility to work remotely or hybrid from one of our hubs (Berlin, London, Vienna, Helsinki). If not based in Berlin, you ideally must be able to join team meetings throughout the year and be within a /- 3 hour of GMT timezone. WHAT YOU’LL DO Lead end-to-end product design: Take ownership of designing features across our web platform, mobile app and internal tools – from initial user flows and wireframes to high-fidelity UI and prototypes – ensuring a seamless, user-friendly experience across all touch points. Champion user-centered design: Plan, execute, and analyze user research and usability testing to deeply understand user needs and pain points. You will synthesize insights and validate design decisions with real user feedback, translating findings into impactful product improvements. Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other team members to identify product opportunities and constraints, and translate insights into scalable design solutions. You’ll be involved in the product development process from discovery through delivery, ensuring smooth implementation of your designs. Evolve our design system: Build, maintain, and refine our design system (components, style guides, UI patterns) to ensure a consistent, high-quality look and feel across all products. Leverage Figma to create pixel-perfect components and prototypes, and collaborate with developers for smooth implementation. Iterate and innovate: Continuously improve designs based on feedback, data, and testing. You proactively own projects from concept to launch, iterating to achieve the best user experience while balancing business goals. (We move fast and take in new information constantly, so comfort with agile iteration is key). Wear multiple hats when needed : We’re a lean team, and everyone steps up to support different design needs when required. You’re not afraid to get stuck into other projects or tasks outside your main scope to drive company success. WHAT YOU’LL BRING 5 years of experience in product design, UX/UI, or digital design (agency or in-house), with at least 1 year in a senior or lead role. Strong experience planning, performing, and analyzing user research—you’re confident leading interviews, usability tests, and turning insights into actionable design improvements. A proven ability to design end-to-end product experiences across web, mobile apps, internal tools, and dashboards. Proficiency in Figma and a love for building and maintaining design systems; knowledge of prototyping tools or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Excellent craft in interaction and visual design—you care deeply about clarity, hierarchy, and making complex workflows feel simple. A proactive, highly organized way of working—you thrive with autonomy but love collaborating closely with PMs and engineers. Strong communication skills—you’re comfortable presenting your work, explaining your rationale, and inviting feedback. Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments, iterating quickly based on user feedback and data. Experience in fintech or B2B SaaS is nice-to-have, but curiosity and adaptability matter more. Our company values align with yours: Push It, Own It, Open Up, Be Kind, Have Fun, Be Pliant.
