The following position is available at short notice at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences in Hagen or Soest in Department 6 "IT Services" (IT Infrastructure Services):
IT System Administrator (m/f/d)
with a focus on network administration / IT security
In addition to maintaining purely functional data transport, the network administration of our university's infrastructure also requires the maintenance of the three core protection goals of information security: availability, integrity, and confidentiality of data. In addition to the focus on network administration, the position therefore also requires in-depth knowledge of IT security.
Tasks
* Collaboration on the design and implementation of security processes for the maintenance, further development, and optimization of the IT security level of the existing infrastructure
* Responsible for designing security measures in accordance with the BSI's IT baseline protection methodology for implementing security processes. Design and implementation of the security measures designed with the network and server operation teams in the infrastructure managed by the department. Participation in daily system administration, in particular with regard to the operational implementation of security measures.
* Processing of inquiries from the information security officer.
Requirements
* Completed master's degree in computer science or electrical/communications/information technology, ideally with a focus on IT security, or a completed bachelor's degree in these fields with several years of professional experience in IT security.
* In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art security mechanisms at the network, operating system, and application levels.
* Good knowledge of protocols, services, and topologies of IP-based networks and their interaction in an autonomous system.
* Knowledge of the administration of active network components such as switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN gateways in the enterprise sector.
* Good knowledge of German (at least C1 level in spoken and written) and good knowledge of English (at least B2 level)
* Open-mindedness, ability to work independently, initiative
* Service orientation and enjoyment of teamwork
* Willingness to travel to all university locations
* Class B driver's license is advantageous
Knowledge of the relevant standards of the Federal Office for Information Security, in particular the IT Baseline Protection Compendium, as well as knowledge of IT service management according to ITIL, are advantageous.
Contract terms
The full-time position is based on the collective agreement for the public sector of the federal states (TV-L) and is permanent. The position is classified in pay grade 13 TV-L. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis. Working hours and place of work can be arranged flexibly within the framework of an existing model.
