Your mission
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tech Lead - Foundations Squad to join our team.
Floy is supporting radiologists by boosting their diagnostics efforts with unconventional AI products focused on overlooked diseases. You will lead a fast-paced engineering team tasked to optimize the key infrastructure and tech stack to solve unexplored radiological diagnostics problems. This means that you are experienced with data and service infrastructure, possess a versatile tech stack, can think out-of-the-box, and have the ability to plan and execute R&D tasks with your team independently and passionately.
The goal is to enable interdisciplinary teams and shape processes that are able to scale with the growth of Floy. You own the system engineering, data engineering, engineering productivity, and test engineering, and security domains.
Your responsibilities
* Lead and guide a team of diversely specialized engineers
* Create Floys’ core infrastructure to support and enable other teams in various domains of Data, Apps, CI/CD, common ML/DevOps
* Take ownership of in-house projects and manage stakeholders requirements, and design efficient processes
* Focus on scalability and efficiency to support rapid growth
* Optimize for system stability, security, fast processing times and stakeholder requirements within medical regulatory frameworks
What are we looking for?
* A degree in a relevant scientific (Computer Science, Software Engineering) discipline or equivalent experience in a related field
* Strong attitude to support and collaborate with other (engineering) teams
* Strong commitment to teamwork and communication skills
* Strong proficiency in Python and underlying core concepts
* Knowledge in containerization and the use of cloud platforms
* Familiarity with AWS ecosystem: ECS, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, etc
* Comfortable with cloud monitoring, logging, and observability tools
* Strong grasp of infrastructure security, including encryption, access control, and compliance
* Strong knowledge of GitHub Actions and modern CI/CD best practices
* A keen eye for detail and commitment to requirement/user-driven engineering
* Structured approach to documentation and a high standard for reproducibility and transparency
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
* Versatile tech stack including Python, Docker, Bash, AWS, API development
Good-to-Have:
* Prior exposure to start-up environments and rapid scaling challenges
* Experience in medical imaging (DICOM) or prior work in the radiology or healthtech domain
* Experience in MLOps
* Experience in working with deploying and managing in-house / external apps
* Proven expertise in Terraform for cloud infrastructure provisioning and management
* Proficiency in managing relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) in cloud setups
* Basic understanding of data engineering tools like DBT or Airflow
