Roles & Responsibilities
* Monitoring and reporting on the regulatory issues relating to Product Eco-design, Energy Labeling Regulations and other emerging regulations on Product Sustainability, such as ESPR (Eco-design of Sustainable Product Regulation)
* Lead a comprehensive monitoring and reporting program on Product Eco-design and Energy Labelling regulation development relevant to a wide range of LG Electronics' products, including Televisions and Monitors, Computers, Household appliances, Heating and Cooling equipment
* Provide guidance and advice to HQ and Business Units' product compliance / standard teams on technical and administrative requirements under the Eco-design and Energy Labelling regulations and prepare for additional product sustainability requirements (e.g. reparability / durability index, product environmental footprint, digital product passport, etc.) that may be required in the future under new product sustainability regulations
* Coordinate market surveillance handling when member state authorities conduct compliance documentation check or product testing on LGE products
* Ensure compliance of European Subsidiaries according to legal requirements applicable to product sales & marketing and service (e.g. on-line information, spare part provision, repair information, etc.) and organize regular compliance check and benchmarking activities
* Represent LG Electronics’ interests in European industry associations (e.g. Digital Europe, APPLiA), participate in standardization activities at the local and European level (e.g. CENELEC, ETSI), and engage in dialogues with diverse EU policy-makers to positively contribute to rule-making on product sustainability with a goal to find effective and pragmatic solutions to mitigate climate change impacts and enhance circular economy contributions
Required qualifications, skills and experience
* Academic background in the fields of Electrical / Electronics / IT / Mechanical Engineering
* 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar role (Expert Engineer, Technical Expert), preferably within a relevant industry LG Electronics is present
* In-depth knowledge of European regulations relevant to the field of Eco-design, Energy Labeling, and Circular Economy (xxtensive knowledge of technical features of electrical / electronic products)
* Solid experience with product compliance testing and certification, in particular in the field of energy efficiency and product performance
* Proficiency in analyzing, interpreting and reporting on information from relevant sources
* Excellent planning and organizing skills to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently
* Fluent verbal and written communication in English (additional European languages are an added value)
