About us
Venatic Intelligence is a boutique advisory firm specialising in business intelligence, in-depth investigations, and complex fact-finding. We are seeking a Junior Analyst to join our team in Berlin and play a central role in research-driven engagements. Much of our work is grounded in open-source intelligence (OSINT), uncovering, verifying, and analysing information from publicly available sources to answer our clients' most complex questions.
This is a hands-on role well suited to someone who is naturally curious, detail-oriented, and capable of turning fragmented information into clear analysis. This is an entry- to early-career role, ideal for someone at the start of their career in intelligence and investigations.
What you'll do
* Carry out investigations on companies and individuals, identifying issues related to financial crime, sanctions evasion, conflicts of interest, regulatory issues, as well as political and reputational risk
* Conduct in-depth open-source research across public records, corporate and regulatory filings, court and litigation records, media archives, and proprietary databases
* Analyse corporate structures, financial relationships, and ownership networks across multiple jurisdictions
* Synthesise findings into clear, well-sourced, and analytically rigorous written reports
* Manage components of engagements independently while coordinating with the wider case team under tight deadlines
* Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sound judgement
What we're looking for
* Strong academic background or equivalent professional experience demonstrating a high level of proficiency in analytical research, complex problem solving, and critical thinking
* 0–2 years of experience in investigations, business intelligence, due diligence, journalism, law enforcement, compliance, law, or a related research-intensive field. Strong recent graduates with demonstrable research ability are encouraged to apply
* An analytical, inquisitive, and logical mind, with strong research instincts, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to evaluate sources critically
* Comfort working with public records, databases, and large volumes of information
* Enthusiasm for finding “the needle in the haystack”
* The ability to produce clear, structured analysis and excellent report writing skills
* A highly professional and commercial approach to problem solving
* Strong communication skills (across individuals, cultures, and business lines)
* Fluency in German and English
* Fluency in another language (for example Russian, French, Arabic, and Spanish) is desirable but not essential
* Discretion, integrity, and the ability to handle confidential matters
What we offer
* Exposure to a broad and intellectually demanding caseload from day one
* Close mentorship and the chance to grow quickly in a small, expert team
* A permanent, full-time position
* Competitive compensation
* 28 days of annual leave
* Flexible working, with remote work possible
* A flexible and competitive benefits package, which can be tailored to your preferences
