APIs are fundamentally changing the technological landscape in almost every industry, so do they in the financial services sector, especially in the fast pacing payments area. We are looking for someone who will play a central role in this transformation for CGI and can further shape CGI’s API management profile within the financial services industry.
You would complement our team consisting of over 40 members strongly focused and specialized on all topics around payments as subject matter expert for payment-related API initiatives. Besides of sharing your already existing expertise on the topic across our teams, you can further develop your existing knowledge on the topic of API management supported by CGI. With your expertise and reputation on API management in combination with your focus on payments, you will act as a key player for our clients and sustainably position our team as experts in this environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
In an exciting environment with constant change, you will advise our clients on their digital challenges. Besides of other initiatives, the PSD2 has fundamentally changed payment transactions and opens up new potential for both, new and existing competitors. Your task in this environment is to design solutions in the Open API environment, present them to our clients, and ultimately implement. You can take on various roles in the project, e.g. requirements engineer, project manager, developer, or tester. Due to the steadily growing importance of APIs in payments, you will have a wide range of personal development opportunities. You will actively participate in the transformation of an industry, contribute your own ideas and acquire attractive skills.
In addition, these other tasks are part of your job description:
•Observation of market trends and competitive developments
•Development of frameworks and process models
•Preparation and conduction of presentations
•Participation in industry-leading workshops/counsils
•Sharing of best practices and relevant knowledge with clients and within CGI’s internal working groups
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
You hold a degree in computer science, business administration, or comparable, and have at least 3 years of professional experience in your area of expertise. In addition to your technical know-how on the topic of API management, you convince people with your social competence. You are able to listen actively and analyze client requirements in a well-founded way. A convincing demeanor, enjoyment of team-oriented work, and mental flexibility characterize you.
Your competencies include:
•Proven experience with API management and third party integrations
•Knowledge of API specifications
•Understanding of IT infrastructures (databases, web services)
•Good knowledge and practical experience in project management
•Preference to work with international teams
•Good written and spoken German and English skills
The following additional skills would be advantageous:
•Experience in the financial services or payments industries
•Knowledge of PSD2 and RTS
