About the role
To support our Internal Audit team and to be based in Hamburg, Germany, we are currently looking to recruit a (Sr.) Internal Auditor who can maintain high level of work and will suit a team player with passion and drive to succeed, working well with our motivated team.
What you will do
1. Perform audit activities including risk management and controls over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
2. Assist with the determination of internal audit scope and development of annual plans consistent with the Internal Audit Charter, objectives, assessment of audit risk, client needs, and audit priorities communicated by the Head of Global Internal Audit and Audit Committee
3. Obtain, analyze and evaluate accounting documentation, prior reports, data, flowcharts etc.
4. Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process
5. Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings
6. Document processes, conduct interviews and prepare audit findings memorandum in compliance with policies, procedures and International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
7. Conduct follow-up audits to monitor management’s interventions
8. Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards
9. Ensuring that working papers support the findings
10. Ensuring that reports are accurate, objective, clear, concise, constructive, and timely
11. Partake in on-the-job training to strengthen knowledge/skills/development
12. Pursuing professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships
13. Performing related work as assigned by the Head of Global Internal Audit
What you will need
14. University degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
15. Minimum 5 years of proven working experience as Internal Auditor, depending on educational credentials
16. Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
17. Professional qualifications such as CIA / ACCA / CPA are desirable
18. Ability to analyze large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports
19. Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations
20. High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
21. Sound independent judgement
22. Willingness to travel (approx. 40%)
23. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, any other language is a plus
