Role & Purpose
As a Business Development Manager Contract Logistics, you will be responsible for acquiring new customers and developing business opportunities within warehousing, value-added services, and end-to-end supply chain solutions.
You will report to the Head of Business Development NEC and work closely with Solution Design, Operations, and Product Teams. The role is focused on driving growth and winning new business – without direct people management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Identify, approach, and acquire new customers in the Contract Logistics segment
2. Develop tailored customer solutions in collaboration with Solution Design and Operations teams
3. Conduct market and competitor analysis to detect trends and business opportunities
4. Prepare and deliver customer proposals including commercial calculations and negotiations
5. Manage the full sales cycle (from lead generation to contract signature)
6. Ensure alignment with regional and global stakeholders to maintain consistency and profitability
7. Represent Maersk at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows to strengthen market presence
Your Profile
8. Several years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Key Account Management within Contract Logistics, Warehousing, or Supply Chain Management
9. Proven track record in winning projects and delivering revenue/profit growth
10. Strong understanding of Contract Logistics operations and value-added services
11. Analytical and conceptual strength with commercial acumen
12. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English (German or another European language is a plus)
13. High self-motivation, structured working style, and ability to succeed in a complex international matrix environment
