Scientist in Marine Digital Innovation
The applicant will work in the frame of the EU Research and Innovation Action projects and activities, aiming to develop new products to predict and protect the biodiversity of marine ecosystems. Our initiative will showcase the application of diverse Digital Ocean Twin frameworks and demonstrate the capabilities of digital ocean twins through selected case studies in the sector of offshore industries. We would therefore strongly encourage qualified women to apply for the position. In principle, the full time 3-year (post-doc) position (39 h/week) is also sharable.
The new position builds on successful recent modelling and Artificial Intelligence (AI) scientific developments and thus offers the best prospects for a career in earth system and climate sciences as well as in the rapidly growing fields of Digital Ocean Twins and multiuse of resources.
We are looking for a motivated and eager-to-learn new colleague with good programming or data science skills. The applicant will be trained by our team in state-of-the-art tools and will proceed in close cooperation with the project partners from all over Europe. The position offers an excellent opportunity for an application-oriented entry into Digital Twins initiative, whereby the work within the framework of the EU horizon mission ocean project contributes directly to the goals of the European Green Deal Initiative.
a Master’s Degree and PhD in (ocean) modelling (e.g. oceanograohy, physics, mathematics, computer science, data science biogeochemistry, meteorology)
capacity and interest to work in different fields of marine science including physics, biogeochemistry, ecological processes, environmental engineering
very good written and verbal English communication skills are required
