Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Grid to lead the grid connection activities for our client’s BESS portfolio in Germany. This senior role will be pivotal in driving successful project delivery, navigating regulatory frameworks, and ensuring seamless coordination with TSOs, DSOs, and internal project teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all grid connection activities for BESS projects across Germany.
* Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Transmission System Operators (TSOs), Distribution System Operators (DSOs), and other relevant stakeholders.
* Oversee grid connection applications, approvals, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate closely with internal project teams to integrate grid requirements into project planning and delivery.
* Provide technical guidance on grid infrastructure, connection agreements, and capacity assessments.
* Monitor developments in German grid regulations, network codes, and market rules to inform project strategy.
* Drive process optimisation and continuous improvement for grid connection procedures.
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in grid connection, ideally within BESS, renewable energy, or large‑scale energy projects in Germany.
* Strong understanding of German grid codes, TSO / DSO processes, and regulatory frameworks.
* Track record of successful negotiation and management of grid connection agreements.
* Strategic thinker with excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced project development environment.
* Fluent in German and English.
