Freelance: HSSE Expert (f/m/d) – Major Industrial New-Build Project
📍 Saarland Region, Germany
📅 Start: ASAP (1.07 or 1.08)
⏳ Duration: 12 months initial contract (strong extension option – total project duration 3–3.5 years)
For a major industrial construction project in Saarland, Germany, we are looking for two experienced HSSE Experts (f/m/d) to join the project team.
Responsibilities:
• Act as HSSE expert for specific disciplines such as civil works, steel construction, mechanical installation, electrical works, lifting operations, scaffolding, heavy transport, security or hazardous materials
• Identify safety risks and implement preventive measures
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits
• Review risk assessments and HSSE documentation
• Coordinate contractors and ensure compliance with site safety requirements
• Support safe execution of construction activities across multiple contractors
• Lead safety meetings and communicate HSSE requirements to project stakeholders
• Stop unsafe work activities where necessary
Requirements:
• Safety Engineer, Safety Technician or Safety Master qualification
• Certified Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (FaSi)
• SiGeKo qualification
• Several years of experience on large industrial construction projects
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Fluent German
Preferred:
• SCC Certificate (017/018)
• NEBOSH and/or IOSH certification
• Experience in steel, heavy industry, EPC or plant construction projects
Industry Background (Advantageous)
Experience in the following industries is beneficial but not mandatory:
