Job Outline:
In countries where the Advanced Engineering Group (AEG) is established a Regional Technical Manager (RTM) is appointed to manage and co-ordinate the Field Application Engineer (FAE) team. The RTM is both the Manager and the mentor to the FAE team combining and balancing the management of the suppliers with guiding the team into the correct customers. RTMs are required to work with both Future’s Product Marketing Department and suppliers to establish which products are best suited to Future’s customer base and which target markets to address. Once identified, the RTM ascertains the most effective strategy with supporting strategy, execution and continual measurement to monitor progress
What the role involves:
* Ensure a clear process is in place to enable opportunities to be tracked from “design to delivery” with a defined hand over process to covert technical design effort into registered resales.
* Document and consistently review training needs for FAEs to allow them to effectively support the customer base. This should be personalized for each individual member of the team.
* Invest time in guiding suppliers to produce suitable training for Future sales teams to enable them to participate in discovery of opportunities in their customer base.
* Ensure FAE’s are continually and consistently measured to the key company metrics (KPIs). These should be highly visible to the FAEs
* Assist in and enforce the maintenance of company’s design database and hence manufacturer design registration schemes to ensure the Company retains eligibility for any design incentive bonuses.
* Execute the agreed policies for the Company’s technical programme.
* Maintain a good knowledge ok key supplier product releases and adapt strategies to promote and capitalise on these ahead of Future competitors.
Do you have
* Possesses a professional qualification in an engineering-based subject with minimum of five years relevant experience within an electronics company / field.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
* Commercially astute, highly organised and self-motivated.
* Able to work with sales management teams in the region and agree on a focus/key customer-based strategy identifying where enabling technologies and FAE resource can accelerate profitable growth
* Be a self-starter, able to focus on the end result and represent the UK technical team to suppliers and Future EMEA management.
* A complete and comprehensive knowledge of electronics and /or electronic distribution industry. Good knowledge of local vertical markets and key drivers for this market. Understanding of commercial imperatives in the distribution market such as margin, supplier management etc
* To display and enact management / leadership skills. To be a mentor to others and assist in the motivating and coaching and developing people as required
