Embedded Systems | Automotive ADAS & Infotainment | Linux & Real-Time Software
For our client, we’re seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with deep expertise in Linux-based embedded systems to help lead the development of Safe Linux platforms for automotive ADAS and Infotainment applications.
This is a hands-on, system-level role based in Munich, where you'll design, optimize, and support embedded software stacks used in next-generation intelligent vehicles. You’ll work across the full lifecycle—from bootloaders to kernel, middleware to real-time performance—collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and the open-source ecosystem.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development of Safe Linux embedded software for automotive-grade platforms
2. Architect and optimize system-level components, focusing on performance, safety, and modularity
3. Collaborate across domains: ADAS sensors, infotainment stacks, connectivity, and power management
4. Debug and resolve complex issues across multiple layers: bootloader, kernel, drivers, and user space
5. Define development best practices aligned with automotive safety standards (ASIL, Automotive SPICE)
6. Guide junior engineers and interface with system architects, validation teams, and customer programs
What You Bring:
1. 5+ years of professional experience in embedded Linux development (Safe Linux, RTOS, Android/Linux)
2. Expertise in C/C++, Linux internals, device drivers, and real-time constraints
3. Deep familiarity with Yocto, U-Boot, and kernel-level debugging tools (GDB, T32, crash, perf, etc.)
4. Hands-on experience with ARM SoCs, board bring-up, and hardware/software integration
5. Strong understanding of system-level safety, performance, and resource optimization
6. Experience in cross-functional collaboration with Tier 1s, OEMs, or open-source communities
Bonus Points:
1. Prior work in ADAS, IVI, or real-time multimedia systems
2. Knowledge of multi-OS virtualization, containers, and secure boot architectures
3. Experience with ASIL-B/C compliance, system verification, and E2E safety workflows
4. Familiarity with Qualcomm, NXP, or Renesas automotive platforms
5. Contributions to open-source Linux or automotive software projects (e.g. AGL, Linux Foundation)
