Welcome to one of Europe’s most exciting New Space companies, creating the world's first fully connected mesh network in the sky. We are an international team of experts and engineers who have spent their careers expanding the boundaries and potential of space, now united in pursuit of a single vision. We value trust, open communication, and collaboration to achieve the best results together.
Now we are looking for the best talents for our locations in Munich and Berlin to help us make our vision come true.
Your mission
As Ground Segment System Architect, you will support the Ground Segment Lead Architect in designing, developing, and implementing the Ground Segment system for Rivada Space Networks. The Ground Segment is a core component of our satellite network, enabling seamless communication between the satellite constellation, user terminals, and network control systems.
You will contribute to the architecture and integration of various Ground Segment components, including network operations, RF resource management, SDN solutions, and OSS / BSS interfaces. You will be involved in Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) activities, working regularly with the MBSE team and being responsible for segment-level modeling to capture the Ground Segment's functional design in the MBSE System Model.
You will work closely with internal teams, external suppliers, and the Lead Architect to ensure the Ground Segment meets performance, reliability, and scalability requirements. You will also manage system requirements, define use cases, and oversee interface development across all Ground Segment components.
This Includes
* Supporting the definition of Ground Segment system requirements, interface requirements, and architecture in alignment with overall system specifications
* Managing system requirements, ensuring traceability, consistency, and compliance with technical and operational needs
* Defining and maintaining use cases to drive development, validation, and optimization of Ground Segment functionality
* Overseeing the definition and management of interfaces between Ground Segment subsystems, including Network Control, RF resource management, user terminal interfaces, SDN solutions, OSS / BSS, and payload control systems
* Developing MBSE models focusing on ground segment design, functional analysis, functional allocation, interfaces, and data modeling
* Contributing to the design and optimization of key Ground Segment components, ensuring seamless integration with satellite constellation and user terminals
* Collaborating with the Lead Architect to ensure hardware and software interoperability
* Working with suppliers to manage development and delivery, ensuring technical, quality, and timeline adherence
* Supporting Ground Segment operations for smooth transition from development to operational readiness
* Ensuring scalability and flexibility to meet evolving system needs and future technological advancements
* Collaborating with RF, system engineering, and software teams to deliver an integrated, high-performance Ground Segment
What You Bring On The Table
* University degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Systems Engineering, or related technical field
* Minimum 5 years of experience in Ground Segment system design and architecture for satellite communication systems
* Proven experience in defining and managing system requirements, use cases, and technical interfaces
* Good understanding of satellite communications, RF resource management, and payload operation
* Experience with Model-based Systems Engineering methodologies and tools, preferably ARCADIA and Capella
* Experience designing complex Ground Segment architectures, including network control, RF systems, and user interfaces
* Familiarity with SDN, MPLS, OSPF, and OSS / BSS integration
* Knowledge of RF standards like DVB-S2X, beam hopping, and dynamic resource allocation
* Understanding of systems engineering processes, methods, tools, and standards
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and trade-off analysis skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of working in international teams
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken
* Proactive mindset with ownership skills in a fast-paced environment
