Legal Counsel - Construction & Insurance (m/f/d)
Location: Hamburg, Berlin or Dresden
The Opportunity
A well‑established, internationally active player in the risk advisory and insurance solutions space is expanding its legal team and is looking for a Legal Counsel with a strong interest in construction and insurance‑related matters.
In this role, you will act as a key legal interface between engineers, insurance specialists, and commercial stakeholders, advising sophisticated clients on complex risk, contract, and coverage questions across large‑scale construction projects.
Your Role
* Act as the central legal contact within an interdisciplinary team of engineers, legal experts, and insurance specialists.
* Manage and advise on complex insurance solutions for construction and infrastructure projects.
* Provide legal advice on construction‑related matters and develop tailored solutions for sophisticated contract and insurance challenges.
* Review, analyse, and negotiate contracts and insurance wording, and support the development of innovative coverage concepts.
* Assist in tenders, premium calculations, and risk assessments from a legal perspective.
* Support the handling of claims and dispute scenarios, coordinating settlement strategies and acting as a mediator between involved parties.
* Maintain and adapt contractual documentation with a structured and diligent approach.
* Optionally contribute to international client projects, applying your expertise in a cross‑border context.
Your Profile
* Fully qualified lawyer (2nd State Examination or comparable qualification).
* Professional experience in construction law and/or insurance law, gained in a law firm, corporate environment, or within the insurance sector.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, particularly in dealings with insurers, clients, and technical stakeholders.
* Structured, solution‑oriented working style with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
* Interest in commercial and economic contexts and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration.
* Excellent communication skills in German and English
