The goal of Specialist, Quality Control is to conduct quality control activities within the Company for mechanical parts. This involves primarily conducting inspections, calibrations, test activities, reporting, and tracking the results of these activities (including any nonconformances found) as well as performing other related supporting tasks to ensure overall quality compliance. At this level, the job holder is able to execute most tasks with only little guidance. This position proactively communicates the status of their work and provides feedback on any encountered issues and documents in the work as appropriate.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for testing of incoming mechanical parts for their function using various measurement
equipment: Gauges, Caliper and Micrometer.
* Programs, operates, and testing with 3D optical measuring machine
* Operate a 3D coordinate measuring machine in absence of the machine Operator
* Preparation of measurements, evaluation, and interpretation of the data / results
* Creates, revises, and reviews work instructions, test instructions, procedures, forms, and other quality
documentation related to test results as assigned in cooperation with Application Engineering
* Creates, tracks, and reports on quality issues to Project Managers and Line Managers in a timely manner, including regular updates for reporting requirements
* Creates and tracks claims for parts with quality issues
* Other duties as assigned
Requirements and qualifications
* A technical vocational training, apprenticeship or similar education in a mechanical discipline is required
* Certificate in 3D coordinate Measuring Machine is required
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quality Control role is required
* Minimum of 2 years of experience working with and interpreting mechanical drawings (experience with CAD/CAM is beneficial) is required
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in safe handling of measuring equipment is required
* Proven experience in Claim Management is preferred
* Proven experience in Quality Assurance is preferred
* Experience in an international and culturally diverse environment is preferred
* Has experience in creating appropriate documentation and supporting continuous improvement processes
* Must be proficient in spoken and written German, as well as proficiency in spoken and written English
* Basic knowledge of SharePoint
* Basic knowledge of Pro.File
* Intermediate knowledge of Zeiss Calypso
* Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
* Intermediate knowledge of ERP system (e.g. SAP)
