As a member of the LRZ Q-Crew, you're in the driver’s seat developing and providing new tools and methods, working with cutting-edge hardware technologies; and developing the Munich Quantum Software Stack including programming models, OS, compilers and abstraction layers for multiple quantum technologies based on superconducting, neutral and ion qubits. You are pivotal for building unique solutions merging quantum and HPC workflows, advancing the community's research capabilities, and in propelling Bavaria as a global quantum hotspot pushing the boundaries of innovative scientific discoveries achievable with quantum-accelerated computing. We're actively seeking a position for: Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d) for HPCQC Integration Your Role and Responsibilities: Be part of a large software development team developing the Munich Quantum Software Stack Ecosystem Develop the needed technologies for making quantum computing practical, including programming environments, tools, scheduling and virtualization/multi-user tenancy Interface with the quantum physics community in the Munich Quantum Valley (MQV) to understand constraints and requirements Follow good software development practices, including continuous integration Actively publish new developments and technical achievements Basic Qualifications: At least an MS in Computer Science, or Engineering Science with 6 years proven experience, or a PhD plus 2 years experience with research and software development Knowledge of HPC environments and system software Proficiency in C and C++ and in Python Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, for managing CI/CD and versioning the software Excellent oral presentation and writing skills in English Strong desire to contribute your education, experience, energy and enthusiasm to help build a dynamic and progressive quantum computing team and share in its success.
