Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain local sales strategy to improve ABB's market penetration and achieve growth targets.
* Analyze customer needs and monitor competitors based on market information, coordinating with the sales and marketing teams.
* Identify and evaluate new opportunities with potential customers, establish plans for implementation, and drive initiatives to accelerate market share.
* Lead, develop, and coach the sales team to achieve sales goals through high performance.
* Assist the team and customers in identifying technically appropriate and cost‑effective solutions, develop competitive proposals, and participate in key negotiations of orders and framework agreements.
* Build reliable customer relationships, ensuring excellent support and experience.
* Set prices in close coordination with manufacturing plants according to local market needs.
* Ensure efficient marketing efforts (e.g., product launches) and communicate the value proposition to sales teams and customers.
* Plan and conduct customer surveys, implement results to maintain high satisfaction, and document all activities in Salesforce and internal tools.
* Collaborate closely with sales, support, service, order execution, marketing, and other ABB divisions and Group offices.
* Represent ABB Motion Drives portfolio at trade fairs, events, and other external engagements.
Qualifications
* Higher technical education in Electronics, Mechatronics, Control and Automation, or Industrial Engineering.
* Strong and extensive experience in approaching and gaining new customers; several years of sales management, preferably in electric drive technology.
* Experience driving and improving sales performance and productivity across the entire sales chain.
* Leading experience and ability to build high‑performing teams and nurture a growth mindset.
* In‑depth market and specialist knowledge in the drive technology industry.
* Very good written and spoken German and English language skills.
* Proactive, ambitious, persevering person who recognizes and seizes opportunities, with strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
