Full Professorship (W3, permanent position) for Marine Chemistry
(in connection with the lead of the Marine Chemistry department at the IOW).
You will take over the lead of the Marine Chemistry department (currently composed of 4 research groups and more than 30 persons) at the IOW including a dedicated own research group. Modern equipped laboratories, own research vessels and access to state-of-the-art marine chemical analysis methods.

Leading and developing the Marine Chemistry department at the IOW (approx. Establishment and management of a high-performance, interdisciplinary research group
Independent marine chemistry research with an internationally visible profile, ideally with a focus on shelf and coastal sea regions
Cooperation in an international context, including active participation in international organizations and in the “Maritime Systems” profile line at the University of Rostock
Teaching activities (4 hours per week per semester) in the Master's degree programs in Chemistry (specialization in Environmental Analysis) and Marine Biology at the University of Rostock
Active participation and leadership in the management committees of the IOW
Internationally recognized scientific achievements in the field of marine chemistry (German habilitation equivalent), with broad expertise
Excellent didactic skills and experience in teaching
Very good English language skills; willingness to acquire German language skills (we will fund appropriate language courses if required)
