SENIOR HR OPERATIONS, GOVERNANCE & REWARDS MANAGER

Your Mission
As Senior HR Operations, Governance & Rewards Manager, you will play a central role in overseeing and enhancing HR operations, governance frameworks and compensation practices across multiple European jurisdictions.
This highly visible position combines operational leadership, compliance oversight, compensation and performance management, as well as the delivery of strategic cross-border HR transformation projects.
You will work closely with HR, Finance, Legal and senior business stakeholders to ensure efficient, compliant and scalable HR practices supporting business growth and organisational evolution.
This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional seeking a broad regional scope within a complex and international environment, while maintaining a strong hands-on involvement.
Your Key Responsibilities
Payroll Governance & Operational Excellence
Oversee end-to-end payroll governance across multiple European jurisdictions covering approximately 500 employees
Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance and timely execution in partnership with local providers and Finance teams
Define and strengthen payroll controls, reporting standards and audit mechanisms
Monitor labour law, tax and regulatory developments to ensure continuous compliance
HR Projects & Transformation
Lead and coordinate strategic HR initiatives across Europe, including:
Pay Transparency implementation
Set-up of new legal entities (contracts, payroll, benefits, compliance, vendors)
HR systems and process enhancement projects (HRIS, badging systems, automation initiatives)
You will:
Drive projects from conception to implementation
Coordinate international stakeholders and external partners
Ensure scalable and business-oriented solutions aligned with global HR strategy
HR Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
Define and maintain robust HR governance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions
Ensure alignment of HR policies and practices with local legislation and collective agreements
Lead HR audits and ensure audit readiness
Identify and mitigate operational, legal and reputational HR risks
Partner with Legal teams, employee representatives and external stakeholders where applicable
Compensation, Performance & Rewards
Lead annual compensation and performance management cycles
Coordinate salary reviews, bonus processes and benchmarking exercises
Ensure internal equity and external competitiveness of compensation structures
Oversee grading consistency and job evaluation frameworks
Provide strategic insights and analytics to support decision-making
International Mobility
Manage cross-border employee movements and international transfers
Ensure compliance with immigration, tax and employment regulations
Partner with Finance and Legal teams on associated cost and risk implications
Contribute to the standardisation and optimisation of mobility processes across the region
Requirements
The profile we are looking for:
8 to 12+ years of experience within HR Operations, Compensation & Benefits, Total Rewards and/or HR Governance
Strong expertise in multi-country European payroll environments and labour law
Proven experience managing complex international HR projects
Solid understanding of compensation frameworks, job evaluation methodologies and performance management processes
Experience in HR compliance, governance and audit environments
Ability to combine strategic thinking with operational execution
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills within international and matrix organisations
Comfortable navigating complexity, ambiguity and transformation contexts
Fluent English is required; additional European languages would be considered an asset
