Your role
In this global role, you will lead the management and modernization of Symrise Data Center locations in Germany and France, collaborating with both internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality service, cost-effectiveness, and technical innovation.
1. Solution Architecture & Lifecycle Management: Define and develop a roadmap for data center evolution and modernization, working closely with the team to adapt to new technical architectures and solutions
2. Data Center & Infrastructure Operations: Oversee installation, maintenance, monitoring, patching, and updating of servers, storage, and network resources
3. Virtualization & Application Support: Resolve issues in virtualization environments and ensure robust application lifecycle management
4. Technical Consultation & Coordination: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, solution engineers, and admins to address technical queries and coordinate with external service providers
5. Business Needs Analysis: Assess network infrastructure and systems to meet evolving business requirements and optimize service delivery
Work location is flexible across our main sites in Germany (Holzminden), France (Rennes), or Spain (Barcelona).
About you
6. At least 3 years in infrastructure operations
7. First experience with GCP and/or Azure, automation, and infrastructure as code (IAC) is advantageous
8. Advanced knowledge in VMware vSphere, operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking (routing, load balancing, switching), security (firewall, VPN), or relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL)
9. Proficient in PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages
10. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, supported by ServiceNow experience
11. Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous
