We're seeking a skilled DevOps professional to join our team and help develop a state-of-the-art infrastructure for secure genome data exchange.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in managing our cloud infrastructure, developing and maintaining genomics and health web services aligned with Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) standards, and integrating them with national and international partners.
You will collaborate closely with bioinformaticians, developers, data stewards, and international partners to support data sharing and interoperability.
We offer the opportunity to shape one of Germany's most important emerging scientific data infrastructures for omics data storage and exchange. You will be part of international organizations like GA4GH, EGA, and ELIXIR, helping to define the future of genomics across borders.
To succeed in this role, you should possess a Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, bioinformatics, or computational biology, with a focus on bioinformatics or data science. A PhD is optional but desirable.
You must have experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure management, and container orchestration with Kubernetes, proficiency in Linux systems, strong knowledge of IT security certifications and standards, and experience in metadata interoperability standards.
In addition to your technical expertise, you should have excellent communication skills in English, enabling you to articulate technical needs, set clear goals, and work effectively in an interdisciplinary setting.
