Description Role Overview The Principal Systems Architect will serve as a technical expert and customer advocate for our Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) portfolio, specifically EEPROM and ReRAM-based products. This role combines hands-on technical support, product definition, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful integration and adoption of our memory solutions across automotive, industrial, and consumer markets. Responsibilities System Architecture & Technical Leadership Own system‑level architectural positioning product solutions across automotive and industrial platforms, including: Zonal controllers and centralized compute. Power distribution (OBC, DC/DC, EPS, braking, ADAS). Front‑end protection and sensing architectures. Translate customer system requirements into actionable guidance for ICD product definition, NPIs, and portfolio gaps. Lead cross‑product architectural alignment across : Power regulation (LDOs, DC/DC, ideal diodes). Current sensing and signal chain. Logic and interface (I²C/I3C, SPI, GPIO). Isolation devices. Protection and analog building blocks. Act as the technical arbiter in architectural tradeoffs (accuracy vs. cost, integration vs. flexibility, roadmap timing vs. customer urgency). Customer Engagement & Communication (Primary Focus) Serve as lead system architect in customer discussions: Technical workshops. Architecture deep dives. Roadmap alignment meetings. Escalation support for complex design‑in issues. Drive system‑level credibility with Tier‑1s and OEMs (e.g., EPS, zonal, ADAS, powertrain, body electronics). Shape customer perception of onsemi as a system solution partner, not a component vendor. Support FAEs by providing system context, reference architecture, and competitive positioning guidance. Product Strategy & Portfolio Influence Drive product roadmaps and New Product initiatives s by: Identifying system‑level gaps (as demonstrated in CSA, HV sensing, zonal architectures). Providing architecture‑driven justification for investment decisions. Partner with Product Line, Marketing, and Applications teams to ensure roadmaps align with evolving customer architectures, not just pin‑to‑pin replacements. Contribute to architecture‑led differentiation, emphasizing innovation over replication Qualifications Experience Requirements 10 years experience in: Automotive or industrial semiconductor systems. Applications engineering, systems engineering, or architecture roles. Demonstrated track record of: Leading system‑level customer engagements. Influencing product direction through architectural insight. Supporting multiple product lines simultaneously. Prior experience in Field Applications, Systems Engineering, or Technical Leadership roles. Experience Requirements BS-EE Required, MS-EE plus.
