Proclinical is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our team in the Hessen, Pfalz, and Saarland regions. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) and laboratory equipment. This position plays a key role in ensuring system uptime, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction through professional technical support both on-site and remotely.
Responsibilities:
1. Install, configure, and validate diagnostic analyzers and automation systems following manufacturer guidelines.
2. Conduct site readiness checks, utility validations, and safety verifications.
3. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and diagnose mechanical, electronic, or software-related issues.
4. Provide corrective repairs and respond promptly to urgent service requests.
5. Deliver remote and on-site technical support, including basic user training for safe equipment operation.
6. Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding service progress and follow-up actions.
7. Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and case records in FSM systems.
8. Manage personal inventory of spare parts, tools, and calibration equipment.
9. Participate in training programs to maintain certifications and update technical knowledge.
10. Adhere to all regulatory, quality, and safety standards, including ISO 13485.
11. Support audits, CAPA processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills and Requirements:
12. Educational background in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Electromechanics, or a related field.
13. Proficiency in servicing medical diagnostic or laboratory equipment.
14. Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, automation, sensors, and software interfaces.
15. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
16. Analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
17. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
18. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
19. Familiarity with ISO 13485, GMP, or LIS-software integration is a plus.
20. English proficiency for technical documentation and training purposes.
