Hauptaufgaben Working alone, or as a member of a crew, performs a full range of janitorial duties including, but not limited to, the following. Maintains an orderly and clean specified area following general instructions regarding the tasks to be performed. Sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy industrial powered equipment. Washes walls using powered wall washing machines. Adjusts, oils, changes buffers, brushes, rollers, and other attachments on these machines. Washes and replaces ceiling fixtures and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds. Removes stains from a variety of surfaces such as rugs, drapes, walls, floors, and fixtures by use of chemicals and cleaning solutions. Cleans rest rooms and other public areas in the commissary. Washes and cleans windows inside and outside of building. Uses brushes, buckets, squeegees, chamois, cleaning cloths, and cleaning solutions. In backup storage area, maintains a clean and orderly assigned area. Sweeps and mops floor. Removes any spilled liquids. Moves heavy boxes, crates, disassembled equipment, equipment parts or other obstacles in order to clean area. Assists in preparations for special displays, customer appreciation sales, holiday sales, or other promotional activities in the commissary. Performs on call cleanup of spills, debris, and litter from the sales floor, common areas, front end area, and/or other public areas of the commissary. Performs seasonal tasks such as cutting grass, pulling weeds, and trimming bushes. Picks up litter from immediate area outside of the building. Sweeps sand and other debris from the front entrance of the commissary. During winter months may be required to remove ice and snow from sidewalks, entrance ways, and other public pedestrian areas in and around the commissary. Performs other duties as assigned.
