You'll be one of the first points of contact, representing Topicus and learning extensively about the local software market and entrepreneurial landscape.The JobRefine and implement the M&A business development strategy for Germany, assessing key markets and target profilesActively identify and source potential acquisition targets through systematic research, networking, and attending industry eventsInitiate and lead outreach efforts to establish contact and build relationships with owners, founders, and C-level executives of target companiesConduct in-depth qualification discussions to assess strategic fit and gather initial informationLeverage the strong relationship with onwers and sellers to guide them through the M&A processesDocument interactions, research findings, and lead statuses accurately in our CRMCollaborate with the international M&A and Business Development teams to share insights and best practicesMentor and guide junior Business Development team membersYour ProfileProven track record in business development, M&A origination, strategic sales, or a similar role requiring proactive outreach and relationship building at an executive levelIndependent, proactive, and results-oriented individual, who functions well within a teamExcellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Capable of engaging confidently and building trust with experienced entrepreneurs and senior leadersStrong analytical skills and financial literacy to understand financial performance, valuation and key business metrics in order to assess preliminary fitOrganized, methodological, and detail-oriented in approach and documentationEstablished network within the software/tech industry is a significant advantageProfessional demeanor and representative of the Topicus values (we dare, share, care and deliver)RequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree, preferably (but not mandatory) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Sales, or a related field4+ years of relevant experience in a business development, sales, research, or related commercial role.
