Munich Re Japan Branch is actively expanding the Digital Solutions business tailored to insurance companies. We are now seeking a Digital Solutions Specialist to drive digital transformation in the life insurance industry. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will support the Digital Solutions Officer (DSO) in promoting operational efficiency and creating new value for our clients by leveraging deep knowledge of life insurance business, data analytics and advanced technologies. Your Role Designing, developing, and implementing new digital solutions to address challenges in the existing life underwriting process Visualizing pain points and demonstrating expected outcomes for proposed new solutions leveraging data analytics Developing prototypes for new solution ideas Data analytics and predictive model development related to underwriting processes Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and driving projects forward Your Profile Minimum 3 years of experience in the Japanese life insurance industry Data analytics skills (experience using R or Python) Native-level proficiency in Japanese communication, and business-level English communication skills Suitable for someone from an actuarial background Fellow or Associate of a recognized actuarial body Advantage: Knowledge and experience of the underwriting process Demonstrates strong problem-solving and analytical thinking Works independently while collaborating effectively with others Thrives in small teams and takes initiative in driving results Willingness to explore and adopt new technologies At Munich Re, we embrace, and value, the interaction of diverse backgrounds, experiences, perspectives and thought.
