KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA is searching for a motivated Technical Assistant (m/f/d) to join our Genome Editing (GenEd) Trait Discovery group at our global headquarter in Einbeck, Germany. If you are passionate about advancing protein analytics in the field of agricultural sciences and have already acquired hands-on experience in protein-protein interaction technologies, then you will be a perfect candidate to join our growing team. This is a full-time position with an initial 2-year fixed-term contract, potentially leading to a permanent role. We're excited to fill it as soon as possible!
Your responsibilities:
1. Design, implementation and documentation of protein-protein interaction experiments
2. Perform cloning and genetic transformation of bacteria and plants
3. Express and purify proteins using chromatographic system
4. Prepare, evaluate and report data in internal meetings
5. Contribute to general lab maintenance and team operations
6. Support in internal and external stakeholder management
Bring in your potential:
7. Completed training as BTA, ATA, LTA, bachelor’s or master’s degree in biochemistry or other comparable qualifications
8. Know-how and hands-on experience in working with techniques such as affinity, ion-exchange and size-exclusion chromatography is a must have
9. Experience with protein-protein interaction analytics will add value to the team
10. Knowledge of handling plant material and greenhouse (GH) experiments is required
11. Expertise with liquid handler and/or high throughput platforms will be considered a plus
12. Experience with LIMS and ELN documentation
13. High level of motivation and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
14. Excellent team player with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
15. Excellent communication skills in English are mandatory and German language skills will be beneficial
