The RoleAs an early-stage engineer, you will be working on many different aspects of Hakuna's products and Hakuna's engineering culture. Your role will encompass all of product development; from architecture and design to development and operations.Your focus will be on moving fast, shipping and getting feedback, and iterating on ideas that improve Hakuna's products. You will be contributing to shaping our engineering culture and the future of our company.Your responsibilitiesYou will take ownership of projects end-to-end, and be involved in all phases of development (i.e., architecture, design, implementation, and operation)You will collaborate with team members and other departments to refine product features and brainstorm ideasYou will contribute to all of Hakuna's products and be part of an innovative embedded insurance applicationYou will develop and maintain code that meets our standards and best practices for a high-scale web environmentYour profileYou have at least 4 years of experience with web development in a commercial environmentYou have experience with Javascript and/or Typescript, AWS serverless, React, and NodeJSYou have strong technical skills and an ability to work across backend, frontend, and infrastructureYou have a desire to work independently with a broad scope of ownership and a high degree of autonomyYou have a background in building distributed scalable servicesYou are comfortable making trade-offs between quality and delivery speedYou have effective communication skills, and a positive and solution-oriented mindsetWhy us?We’re a remote-first company with an international team.
