Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Event Manager to join our dynamic international team. In this high-impact role, you will lead the planning and execution of our flagship World News Media Congress, as well as a portfolio of other prominent global events. The ideal candidate is a seasoned event professional with a passion for delivering unforgettable experiences, exceptional organizational abilities, and a track record of managing complex, high-profile events.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead Event Management: Take ownership of the end-to-end planning and delivery of the annual World News Media Congress, hosted in global cities each year.
* Project Oversight: Oversee the planning and logistics of multiple international events across various formats (Conferences, Workshops, Roundtable, etc).
* Vendor & Venue Coordination: Source and manage venues and vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate cross-functional internal teams, including communications, sponsorship, editorial, and executive stakeholders.
* Attendee Experience: Manage speaker and VIP logistics, including travel, accommodation, and personalized engagement.
* Budget & Timeline Management: Develop and manage budgets, timelines, and detailed production schedules to ensure seamless execution.
* Innovation & Best Practices: Stay ahead of industry trends and apply creative ideas to elevate the impact and value of WAN-IFRA’s events.
Requirements:
* Valid work authorization in Germany, France, the UK, or Spain (Madrid).
* Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Tourism, or a related field.
* Minimum 6 years of experience in event management, including international conferences, summits, webinars,and hybrid/virtual formats.
* Fluent in English (spoken and written); proficiency in French or German is a strong plus.
* Proven project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple concurrent events from conception to execution.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and external partners across cultures.
* Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a sharp focus on timelines, budgets, and customer experience.
Tech proficiency:
* Solid working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Familiarity with project management tools is an advantage.
* Experience with tools like Canva, Salesforce, or AI-based productivity is a plus.
