The Engineering Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing aspects of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management throughout the engineering and construction phases of the Greenfield Project. This role ensures that activities are conducted in compliance with relevant German safety regulations, company policies, and industry’s best practices. The Safety Manager acts as the primary point of contact for safety matters on-site, proactively identifying risks, suggesting and implementing control measures and fostering a culture of safety among all project stakeholders. Safety Strategy & Management : Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety management systems, policies, and procedures tailored to engineering and construction environments. Risk Assessment : Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses for all project activities, ensuring effective mitigation measures are established and maintained. Compliance & Regulation : In collaboration with the SiGeko, ensure full compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations, standards, and codes of practice. Incident Management : In collaboration with contractor safety teams, Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and near-misses; Site Inspections & Audits : Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety walks to verify adherence to safety protocols and identify opportunities for improvement. Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to align safety objectives and resolve safety concerns. Maintain accurate records of safety activities, incidents, and compliance documentation; prepare regular reports for management and regulatory authorities. Qualifikation Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years’ large project experience in Germany in a safety leadership role within engineering or construction projects, preferably in large-scale or complex environments. In-depth knowledge of German safety legislation, regulations, and standards relevant to engineering and construction. Proficiency in safety management systems and relevant software tools. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to risk management.
