The best hotels run on Shiji—day and night. We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join our team in Berlin, primarily responsible for the US entity and contributing to the accounting of other Americas entities as needed.
The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of experience in accounting, including 3 years of hands-on experience with US GAAP. This role will support the general ledger accounting process and ensure compliance with local GAAP standards, reporting directly to the Director of Finance Operations.
Handle general ledger (GL) accounting for assigned entities within the Americas regions.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and support external audits.
Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and tax advisors to maintain accurate financial records.
Supporting U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance processes and coordinating with external tax advisors.
Work closely with the Americas and European GL Teams to ensure consistency and efficiency in accounting practices.
Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience.
Proficiency with accounting systems; Experience supporting tax filings or statutory audits in the US is an advantage.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
