About EUROGATE & EUROGATE Group Automation (EGA)
EUROGATE Group Automation (EGA) is driving the transformation of EUROGATE’s German terminals through an ambitious automation programme.
Our goal is simple: to make automation the engine of safety, reliability, and performance — turning technology and process excellence into measurable business results.
EGA brings together experts from engineering, operations, automation, and digital technologies to deliver complex automation projects that redefine how our terminals work. We are building a culture based on lean performance, continuous improvement, and practical learning — focused on progress, not control.
The Role
The Asset Delivery Manager is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of automated terminal assets from approved design through construction, installation, commissioning, integration and handover to operations.
The role exists to ensure that civil infrastructure, equipment, IT and OT systems are delivered safely, integrated correctly, and achieving stable reliability and early operational performance in line with agreed project objectives.
This is a senior project leadership role, reporting to the Project Director and operating as a peer to the Asset Design Manager, Project Controls Manager, Business & Operational Integration Manager, and Project HSSE Lead.
It is not a design role, but requires strong understanding of design intent, permitting, approvals, and the delivery and integration of complex container terminal assets.
The focus of the role is on-site delivery, integration, and assurance, with strong emphasis on execution, HSSE, and coordination across multiple technical disciplines.
Reporting to: Project Director
Location: Wilhelmshaven, Germany-based role, with some travel possible across EUROGATE’s other locations – Bremen, Bremerhaven and Hamburg.
Language: English fluency required; German language proficiency is strongly preferred too.

* Own the delivery of all physical and technical assets, including civil works, equipment, and IT/OT systems (including development), from approved design through commissioning and handover.
* Plan and manage construction and installation activities, ensuring alignment with contract management, procurement, schedule, cost, HSSE, and quality requirements.
* Lead commissioning and technical integration, coordinating equipment, systems, IT, and infrastructure into a reliable and operational whole.
* Work closely with the Asset Design Manager, ensuring designs are buildable, sequenced correctly, permits and approvals are received and delivered as per our functional, operational and project requirements.
* Coordinate with the Business & Operational Integration Manager, ensuring asset delivery supports operational readiness and KPI-based ramp-up.
* Manage contractors and suppliers, including construction partners, system integrators, and equipment vendors to minimise interface risk.
* Ensure HSSE requirements are fully embedded throughout construction, commissioning, and integration activities.
* Support the Project Controls Manager, providing accurate delivery inputs on progress, risks, dependencies, and forecast impacts.
* Prepare assets for handover, ensuring documentation, testing, and acceptance criteria are met, including reliability and early performance thresholds.
Hard Skills & Experience
* 10+years’ experience delivering large, complex capital assets, ideally within ports, terminals, automation, infrastructure, or heavy engineering environments.
* Proven track record in construction management, systems delivery, and/or heavy equipment commissioning.
* Experience coordinating delivery across multiple technical disciplines (civil, equipment, IT, OT).
* Strong understanding of systems integration and commissioning in operational environments.
* Experience delivering automated or technology-led assets into live operational environments is strongly preferred.
* Experience supporting contracting strategy, procurement and managing contractors, suppliers, consultants and delivery partners.
* Comfortable operating within structured project governance and controls environments.
* Candidates are expected to be deeply experienced in at least one delivery domain (civil, equipment, or IT/OT), with proven ability to lead and integrate the others.
* Practical understanding of lean performance approaches, including leading indicators, visual management, continuous improvement, and structured problem solving (e.g. 5 Whys).
* Confident communicator with senior project and key internal stakeholders.
* Relevant professional certifications (e.g. cENG, iStructE, PMI, APM, Lean Six Sigma, CDM) is highly valued but not essential.
