 1. independent research in international politics, particularly in the history and sociology of world politics; conceptualizing and developing individual and collective research projects (65 %)
 2. teaching in political science (4 teaching hours per semester) and supervision of students (25 %)
 3. participation in the organization of study programmes and in academic governance (10 %)
Employment is conducive to scientific qualification. We offer

 5. fixed-term (with option to extend) for 3 years (§ 2 (1) sentence 2 of the WissZeitVG or § 44 VII Hochschulgesetz NRW for civil servants; in accordance with the provisions of the WissZeitVG and the Agreement on Satisfactory Conditions of Employment, the length of contract may differ in individual cases

Your Profile We expect
 15. completed university degree (e. g. Master’s or Diploma) in political science, preferably International Relations
 16. Doctorate/PhD in political science, preferably on the subject of International Relations
 17. expertise and publications in history and/or sociology of world politics
 18. very good written and spoken English skills
 19. independent, self-responsible and engaged mode of work
 20. excellent organizational and coordination skills
 21. strong team spirit and the ability to work collaboratively
Preferred experience and skills
 22. interest in an academic career
 23. established networks in the scientific community
